Update~ What's Going On

I have been a little missing in action I know.  It  has been a little rough at times for the moment.  Noah has good and bad days, I am just not in the right frame of mind for the bad days right now.  Last Thursday, March 27th was my Dad's Birthday.

Our first without him.  I did cry the first two hours of the day.  I mean I cried deeply like I did when my Mom called and told me he passed, however after that, I felt a sense of relief.  I was able to watch the memorial slide show I created and did not cry or tear up at all.  I just felt warm while I watched it.
March 27th was also Epilepsy Awareness Day and to show support one was to wear purple.  I found it fitting the the awareness day was on my Dad's birthday because poor lil' Miranda has anywhere from 5-30 seizures a day and she was such an inspiration to my Dad while he battled his cancer.
'In honor of Miranda... I'm sporting purple. Today is Epilepsy Awareness day, on my Dad's birthday. How fitting since Miranda was his inspiration to battle cancer without a complaint. He always told me if she can battle everything she goes through daily then what right does he have to complain about his cancer. Miranda you are one very special little girl.'
Where I work, we took a group picture of those wearing purple and those who were affected personally by someone with epilepsy held signs who they were supporting.  I really love the company I work for.
'I love the company I work for...Epilepsy Awareness Day. MediRevv Support'
I am second to the left in the white sweater.  It was a tad windy that day.

Later that night I met up with an old college friend, Pam.  I cannot believe it had been 25 years since I saw her last.  I had such a great time catching up with her and meeting her son.  They were here in Iowa City because he was touring Iowa's campus and possibly in two years he will be going to school here.  I hope so, I also hope he is able to earn a spot on the basketball team.  I would love to see him play.  My friend was super sweet and gave me a gift.  I very much love it.  I think it is the prettiest book I own.  I used to have a pink Bible exactly the same color.

After dinner, I picked up Madi, Ethan's girlfriend and we drove up to Cedar Rapids to pick him up.  His flight was late but it was good to see Ethan.

Taj missed him.  He told me Ethan was away for Spain College.  I just love that kid he is so funny.

The Beatles -- I've Just Seen a Face

The first Beatle's movie I watched was "Help". I loved the humor and I loved the songs.  This is one of the gems.  ENJOY!

Friday Confessional

It is Friday and you all know what that means?  Yep, you guessed it, time to fess up.  Come join the fun over at Aubrey's High-Heeled Love.  She host this little party every Friday.

I confess...

I love my new painting I painted last month
I am not sure where it is going as of yet.  I would love to keep it and possibly hang it in the guest room/toy room after Ethan moves out in August, however part of me would like to give it to either Ethan or Kera for Christmas since they both fell in love with it too.  If I were to do anything different at all, it would be the clouds.  I am not sure I like the way the instructor told us how to create them.  I did not listen to how he told us to do the meadow.  I like my way better using the fan brush to go back through and making the grass blades.  I am digging the mountains and the pine tree a lot!.  I also love the lake, it feels like the water is cold to me.

I confess...

I was creative with Taj's pancakes the same day of the painting class.
Although the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle fell apart,
Taj was very happy to see him on his plate.

What do you have to confess this week?

Leaving On A Jet Plane...

This morning I drove Ethan, my third oldest to the airport.  He is about to embark on a huge adventure for him.  He is going to Spain for two weeks with 19 other students.
This is so out of the ordinary for Ethan.  Ethan does not like change is comfortable with things staying the same.  He is very shy. He is a very picky eater. This is way out of his normal comfort zone and I am so proud he is actually doing this.  It is also his time flying ever!  Right now as I am typing this he is somewhere over the ocean on his way to Madrid, Spain.  Week one he will be sight seeing and then the second week he will be living with a sponsor family and going to school.  Joshua did this his Senior year as well. So far I have been fortunate where I have been able to cover at least 1/3 or a little more of the expense for each one of my three older boys and have called it good for my graduation gift to them.  They had to cover at least 1/3 of the expense on their own.  My oldest, Matthew went to Germany, Austria, and a little town in France where he performed with the high school orchestra.  Ethan has gone through so much this past year like everyone else but he is more affected than his brothers due to the fact he is still living at home and Noah has made threats to him with knives before I had to hide them and lock them in my bedroom closet.  I think it will be a nice break for the boys to be away from one another.  It will also be a nice break for Ethan not to deal with all the drama Noah creates.
I am so excited for him and cannot wait to hear about his adventures and see the pictures he took.

Mug 'O' Comfort Show & Tell

As I posted last month, I participated with one of Chaotic Goddess Swaps and the theme was Mug O Comfort, which is my second favorite swap.  I was ever so lucky to be paired with Kathleen from Fearlessly Creative Mammas.  She has a wonderful blog site she shares with her daughter.  I enjoyed checking it out and plan to follow along.  I loved getting to know Kathleen, she is very blessed to be able to travel.  She moved to China to live with her husband while he works/ed there.  Her next adventure is to move to Alaska and build a cabin there to live.  How exciting is that!   Here is my package I received from her.
I absolutely love the flannel material she gave me.
I am going to make something creative for my Tea Party with my younger nieces.
I am so excited!
I had a traveling coffee cup on my list to buy for our vacation this Summer.
Now I do not have to get one, Kathleen picked out the greatest one.  I love it is dishwasher safe too!
I had a taste last night of the Chocolate Mint Hot Chocolate.
I add a spoonful with some sugar free hot chocolate.  I loved the mint taste.
I plan on having a cup of hot peppermint tea tonight.
The Organic Candy bar, I shared with my husband.  It was so yummy!
I love the handmade bar of soap and the Tissues is always a good idea with me.
I have been so emotional the past year or so.
The card Kathleen sent is hand made and I am IN LOVE WITH IT!!!
It is so pretty I want to frame it some how.

Me thinkiths I was a very lucky gal!  Thank you Kathleen for being such a wonderful swap partner and thank you Angie and Beth for hosting another great swap.  If you want to check out what everyone received, click on the image below.

Happy List ~ Printcess Mineral Make-Up

Beth from Printcess & Living a Goddess Life, who also has her own mineral eye make up Printcess hosted a give a way and I was the lucky winner of three of my choice of her mineral eye make up.  Now, I have to be truthful, I have never used mineral make up before but I am in love with her Printcess line. I love how she has combined two passions of hers... literature and eye make up.  I had been wanting to purchase some as well, so I ended up with six new colors to play with...

Top Row- Left to Right: Manuscript, Alibi, Prologue
Bottom Row- Left to Right: Once Upon A Time, Heist, Royal
Samples Ardently and Sassy

And play with I did.  Alibi on eye lid over my black eye liner, Manuscript center of eye lid and Royals outer corner of eye lid.
(This one is my ultimate favorite!)

Now, I do not apply my eye ware heavy.  I tend to go on the lighter side, only due to a scar I have on my eyelid, but I have applied the darker colors to the area where the scar is and it was not as visible as other eye shadows have been.

I plan to pick up some Vaseline to make lip gloss with Royals as well as pick up some clear fingernail polish.  I think I just might have to add Prologue to clear fingernail polish too for March 17th, St. Patrick's Day.  How fun would that be?  I think it will look awesome.  I will have to post a picture of this once I do make the fingernail polish.

Beth has several tips how to use the mineral make up other than just shadow for eyes.  You seriously should check out her line of mineral make up.  I love it and these are all of my own opinion.  She has no idea I am even posting about her product.  I find the mineral make up is easy to apply and I love the colors.  I look forward every morning to put on her line of mineral make up.  It just makes me HAPPY!

Friday Confessional

It is Friday and you all know what that means?  Yep, you guessed it, time to fess up.  Come join the fun over at Aubrey's High-Heeled Love.  She host this little party every Friday.
I confess...

I absolutely love my new employer MediRevv!  I have never worked for a company like this before.  Their motto is we Play Hard and Work Hard.  We actually do!
MediRevv
 I confess...

Our Holiday Party was very similar but better.  Yes, we had dinner, drinks, and a dance floor.  We also had activities to participate if we wish, such as trivia games, game show games, photo booth, and a very large raffle where the employees won gifts from the company.

I confess...

We had a very generous Christmas bonus.  We have great management from team leads up to the CEO.  My Supervisor is so great and understand.  It has been a very long time since I have felt so appreciated for my hard work.

I confess...

We participate in Spirit Week which co-insides with Iowa Hawkeye's Homecoming.  We decorate Christmas stockings, Valentine Bags.  Celebrate Halloween in many ways.  We celebrate Nacho Chips Day, Pet Day, et cetera.  Today we celebrated Employee Appreciation Day.  I walked in with banners, streamers, high-fives, "Happy Employee Appreciation Day!", and kazoos.  We had healthy snacks, game shows through out the day to participate. Our production was reduced by 25% as a gift.  They gave us little stress toys.  It was such a fun day.

I confess...

My employer is supporting my team as well.  My team is the largest and we have a weight loss competition "Biggest Loser" for ten weeks. One of the upper management caught word of this and purchased a scale for our Fitness Room.  He also had his personal trainer give a lunch and learn for us with a sample workout and meal planning. How great is that?!  Right!!

I confess...
