Tour One~Section One
The Infinity Room
After The Original house, our next stop was the Infinity Room. The Infinity Room is the 14th room of the House and is a room that is totally suspended from the house. The room is 218 feet long and comes to a point. The walls are made up of several small window panes giving the Japanese feeling once again. The Infinity Room has 3,264 windows and provides access to the visitors of the amazing forest view. I am sure if one goes and sees the house in the autumn it would be a beautiful treat. I imagine it would be breath taking to see all the fall colors. The way the suspended room was engineered, one can feel the room move up and down some. This is the case to safely support the weight of the visitors. Personally, I am terrified of heights so I did not enjoy the movement one bit. I was not even able to make it all the way to the end where they allow the visitors to go to. Originally the guest could go out to the point but now the visitors can go as far the glass floor section. The glass floor allows the visitors to have a look down to the forest. The floor is 156 feet above the forest ground. I ended up giving Todd the camera and asked him to take the picture of the view down. I was too much of a scaredy cat.
A view out one of the windows in The Infinity Room.
The forest ground is only 156 feet below this point.
