We Want To Know

 photo WWTKbutton-1-1_zps2077872a.jpg

It is that time of week where we get to know one another just a little more by participating with Scriptors' and Kenzie's little party... We Want to Know.

1. What are three things you couldn't live without (not including food, water, shelter, etc)?
God, Love, and Family
2. If you could only wear one beauty product, what would it be?
A good moisturizer foundation.
3. Are you excited for the school year to be starting soon?
No, I am most definitely not!  My younger two I have to fight with just to complete their homework and keep their grades up.
4. What has been your favorite thing about the summer so far?
Falling deeper in love.
5. What are some questions you would like to see asked in the We Want To Know Link Up?
Maybe something about our favorite toy or shows when we were younger.

I was away last week and want to include my answers from last week as well.

I wanted a Beatles song.  I had another blog that I used for therapy "The Long And Winding Road"  I wanted one which relates to my life... I get by With A Little Help From My Friends.

My and what I enjoy.
{3} What are you favorite link ups?
I love sharing what makes me HAPPY.
{4} How do you decide if you want to follow a blog?
Anyone who follows me, I will automatically follow back.  Others if they perk my interest and I enjoy reading I also follow without hesitation.

Happy List

Ricki Jill is on a blog break, so no party this week.  I did however still want to post my Happy List.

I am HAPPY we had an awesome vacation.  Okay, maybe not awesome but a great one; it would have been awesome if we could have had our second day in Yellowstone and no car repairs.  Yep, we made it to Cody, Wyoming and Todd's car broke down.  Thankfully it was in Cody and not deserted highway because trust me, there were many many miles in between something, sometimes we went nearly 60 miles or a lot more before even seeing a house or anything.  We were also very lucky to have found this wonderful repair shop.  The maintenance guy told us they had no openings until Thursday or Friday next week (which we needed to leave the next day... it was last Friday) and when the owner came to the shop we told him our story and asked what or who he can recommend for us.  He said let me see what I can do for you.  He checked and found the one and only alternator in town for our car.  He also took a battery pack to our car, which died two blocks away to save $70 tow charge.  This guy was so AWESOME!!!!  He replaced our alternator and battery for us in three hours.  He pushed back all the other cars just to help us out.  What a wonderful man.  He made me so HAPPY, I cried.  Seriously I cried.  I was so happy because I feared we were going to have to leave Todd behind and maybe Noah to keep him company for the drive back to Iowa but we did not because God sent this Angel on earth to help us.  HAPPY HAPPY HAPPY!!!!

I have so many more stories to share and a ton of pictures.  Do not worry I will not post all 615 pictures but it will take a while to share my vacation.  I want to do it right like I did the past two years.  Here are only a few pictures.  I did post one of my favorites from my son's smart phone last Wednesday.  If you have not checked it out, please do.  I had the guys all pose like Mt Rushmore.  It cracked Emily and I up.

I wished Matthew and Kera were able to make it.  I also missed Taj a bunch.  Every day we talked about the kid.  I saw a train and...

...yelled "Papa! Choo Choo Traaaaainnnn!" with my fist clinched and moving up and down, just like Taj.  Of course being such an awesome Nana, I took a picture for him.  He loved it.  We also picked up something for everyone from Mt Rushmore and Yellowstone National Park.  We also picked up several things for Taj.  This one made me HAPPY!  He is a local author and he writes children stories at different age levels.  His characters explore the Black Hills.  He personalized Taj's book for him.  I plan on printing this picture and putting it on the back page so Taj has the picture of him personalizing hid book.

My next favorite gift is his cowboy hat.  We found one that looks like Woody's from the Toy Story.  Todd bought this coon skin hat for him.  I told him I thought he would either be afraid of it or love it.  I was leaning more towards afraid of it, unfortunately I was right.  We tried to tell him it is his kitty hat and had him pet it.  He still hates it.  Right before Kera took his picture he came to me and said, "Nana!  I like Woody hat. I no like kitty cat hat."  We all cracked up laughing.

The fact he loves his gift makes me HAPPY!  He came over today to celebrate my husband's birthday tomorrow and he was wearing.  I guess he has been wearing it every where.  Now I need to get my sewing machine fixed so I can make him a cow print vest, that will definitely make him HAPPY!

What do you have to be happy about this week?

LIterary Friday ~ A Sheriff's Legacy Book One

I am participating with Ricki Jill's from Art @ Home , weekly party  Literary Friday. You should go over to her blog and check out all of the other book reviews.

I chose this book because are in Cody, Wyoming today.  A city named after Wild Bill.  It is also one of the books I have not read yet by Samantha Jillian Bayaar. A Sheriff's Legacy Book One

A Sheriff's Legacy: Book One

The author wrote the exact same style she did with the Jacob's Daughter series, we get to read the perspective of the main characters.  This book setting is based in the historical west and it is about a father and son mending a torn relationship and about a couple finding one another once again.  Logan Fisher is the son. His father dropped him off at a train station to go live with his aunt and uncle at the age of twelve shortly after his mother's death.  She died from a rattle snake bite while she was out looking for Logan.  His father at the time blamed him for his mother's death. Over 15 years  later Logan arrives in Tombstone because he received a telegram his father was in trouble. Logan had planned to give his father a taste of him mind but God softened he heart when he was face to face with his father for the first time.  His father was shot by the Wells Fargo Stage Coach robbers and Logan was hoping to be able to join the pose to capture them.  He was an experienced bounty hunter.

While in Tombstone Logan found Daisy Mae Pinkerton, who is the town's school teacher.  Logan and Daisy have a history and this book is a sweet book about how the two feel about one another and try to see logic why they should not be together but know they are meant for one another.

The genre for this book would be historical christian romance.

Friday Confessional

It is Friday and you all know what that means?  Yep you guessed it, time to fess up.  Come join the fun over at Aubrey's High-Heeled Love.  She host this little party every Friday.
Here is what I am confessing this week.

I confess…

I believe Fairy tales are true.  Seriously I do!  There are Happily Ever After’s.
I confess…

I am living one.  Oh, yes there are bad days but when you have Prince Charming supporting you, it will end up Happily Ever After and make you stronger.

I confess…

I married my Prince Charming five years ago today.  Today is our fifth anniversary.  We have lived with one another eight and a half years though, so it seems like we have been married longer.

I confess…

Here are some pictures of us throughout our eight years together.  I love this man with my entire being.  He has given me more opportunities I have ever had.  He supported me taking a major pay cut to be happier at work, which lead to me being healthier.  I am so lucky he chose me out of I have no idea how many women on that dating web site to show interest.  We are a perfect match for one another.
Our First Summer 2005, Jones County Fair.

April 2012 at the Hoover Dam in Nevada/Arizona state line
(We were exhausted this day, of our vacation to Las Vegas.
This is day 4 after walking with blisters all day every day and they
even bled on the first day.  By day 4 I was in so much pain.)

I am HAPPY everything was packed and in the trunk by Sunday evening well packed.  We could not put it in the car because the two who do not live with us ended up not bringing it over.  Oh well.  I did have everything ready in out living room though.  Everything but the food.

I am HAPPY my supervisor and head manager approved to let me go in one and half hours earlier so I can leave earlier to hit the road to Des Moines where we will be picking up one rental car.

I am also HAPPY I am got to see my Dad for a short time while we were in Des Moines.  I am also very HAPPY my Mom allowed for us to crash at her place to sleep where we can get an early leave Midnight on the 23rd (today) to hit the road.  First stop (nearly ten hour drive) will be Mt Rushmore!

I am so HAPPY we are on vacation and plan to see some historical sites as well as monuments.

Tag... I'm It!

I've been tagged by a couple of people now, so I thought I would play along

Ricki Jill tagged me for the first part of my tag is to answer these eleven questions:
1.   How did you get started blogging & what keeps you doing it?
Well I have had several little blog spots but With A Little Help From My Friends began from a cancer scare I had.  I wanted something to have where I place my memories, photos, and what my life is about for my boys.  However I found an entire new world I did not expect, a network of friends and enjoyment.
2.   What do you think makes you unique?
Maybe how I give so much without expecting anything in return. My husband constantly tells me I am the most unselfish person he has ever met.
3.   What's your favorite thing about yourself?
I am a very loyal person.
4.   Where do you see your blog in 5 years?
I am not sure.  I hope I have more DIY projects on here since my children are older and possibly more traveling pictures and of course more grandchildren pictures.
5.   What's the best tip you've ever received about blogging?
Definitely turn off word verification.
6.   How does blogging affect your real life and vice versa?
I do not think so mainly because I blog about my life.
7.   What is something you're actively working toward and how are you getting there?
I am actively working on becoming healthier and losing weight.  I want to be able to ballroom dance again with my husband, weed, and simply get on the ground without pain.  Both of my knees, I have been told four years ago need to have total knee replacements.  Losing the weight will not fix my problems, but it will be easier on me and definitely easier when it comes to physical therapy. I was told they want me to wait until I am closer to 60 but my goal is two years and then bug the heck out of them, so I can have quality life once again and not be in pain every day.  That is how I have been living for four years, pain every day it just differs the intensity of the pain.
8.   What is your absolute beauty must have, and why?
Foundation.  I am still trying to find which one I feel works best for me.  It used to be Cover Girl but since I am getting older, I need to find one that will work with less aging appearance and even my tone.

9.   If money wasn't an issue, what would you run out and buy right now?
My dream car.
Oh, and me being not selfish, well that was go to the sidelines with this.  I would be selfish, NO CHILDREN would drive this baby.  Only me and well, Todd too.

10.   What is one beauty tip you feel that everyone should know?
My Mom always told me to take care of my skin while I was young.  I have used moisturizer but I do not cake on the make up.  I actually look younger than all of my sisters. There is a 13 year age gap between the youngest and me (the oldest), the middle two...well here is a beauty tip for you too.  Stay away from drugs.  It ages you.

11.   Who's your freebie (if you're married-the one person/celebrity you can cheat with without it being cheating) or you're single, your number one celebrity crush?
Oh my, this is so funny because we were talking about this maybe last month.  I do not have anyone with Todd.  I just do not!  I had a dream where I refused to cheat with a very good looking guy.  I just love Todd way too much.  Now do not get me wrong, I enjoy looking and have some star crushes and some very tasty eye candy but even with a freebie, I just would not.  Sorry Paul, not even you.  Todd is my everything and freebie or not, no one else is who I want like that.  Maybe it is because of what I had prior (first marriage) to knowing what I have now.  However, if asked during my first marriage I had different views, it would have definitely been.

By the way, this is a one of a kind photo too.  My Mom's boyfriend took it.
He gave it to me when he was dieing because he knew how much
I love this man. Until just recently, like two months ago, the picture was on my headboard.
Now, it is in my Curio Cabinet.

Friday Confessional

It is Friday and you all know what that means?  Yep you guessed it, time to fess up.  Come join the fun over at Aubrey's High-Heeled Love.  She host this little party every Friday.
Here is what I am confessing this week.

I confess…

I have a lot to do to prepare for vacation.  With the new job and knowing late if I will be able to have the time off or not I feel a little overwhelmed with vacation.  I know I will make it work, I always do.  I just might have to delegate more work to others.
I confess…

I am the one who does most of the prepping for vacation or any type of get away.  I pack everyone’s bags too.  I have the children bring me X amount of shirts, X amount of pants/shorts, X amount of whatever and then I pack it.  I pack everyone’s toothbrushes, deodorant, shampoo.  Any food or drink, I gather and put in bags too.

I confess…

Maybe I should make a list for everyone to help and have them check off the list when they actually pack it, this way I will be sure it was done and I will not have to recheck.

I confess…

Who am I fooling?  I still will check.  I do not want to be miles away and have someone missing something.

I confess…

Although I am not ready because I have so much to do, I am looking forward to spending time with everyone and enjoying the beauty our Nation has.  I am so excited to have the opportunity to take hopefully some beautiful pictures.  We have plans for our pictures too.  We are going to be updating our vacation wall and maybe make some into canvas pictures as well for the stairway.
I confess…

This is a dorky confession.  My mind is on getting things done before vacation, like packing, cleaning, pre-post blogs.  Notifying those who have linky parties if they will include my pre-posted blog to their party because I am not sure if I will be somewhere with Internet access the day of the linky party.

Literary Friday ~ CURSES! A F***ed-Up Fairy Tale

I am participating with Ricki Jill's from Art @ Home , weekly party  Literary Friday. You should go over to her blog and check out all of the other book reviews.

One book I completed this week was CURSES! A F***ed-Up Fairy Tale by J.A. Kazimer.  I have to admit I have a twisted since of humor but I do not even know where to begin with this book.  I had a very hard time reading it.  I thought I was getting a funny book with a grown up version of fairytale with some twisted humor.  This book was definitely not that.  It is definitely one warped fairytale. The story begins with a blue bird killing Cinderella, so we think.  The author has thrown every fairytale character and just about every children's classic character all plopped into one book.  The characters are definitely twisted, some I even enjoyed.  Little Miss Muffet is the villain boss for one.  What happens to Humpty Dumpty I thought was twisted but funny.  The main character is RJ who is Rumple Stiltskin’s son.  He is a villain who was been cursed by the villain union to do nice things until the curse is lifted.  Asia, Cinderella's not so ugly step sister has mistaken RJ as a famous detective. She hires RJ to solve the murder of her step-sister.

I’m no hero. In fact, up until a couple of days ago, I was the villain. Kidnapped maidens, scared kids, stole magic tchotchkes—until I got into a little scrape with the union. Now I’m cursed with the worst fate in New Never City—no matter what I do, I gotta be nice.

So when a head-case princess named Asia barges into my apartment and asks me to find out who whacked her stepsister, Cinderella, I have no choice but to help her. And I’m more than willing to head back to her parents’ castle and do some investigating if it means I can get into her black leather cat suit. Except this twisted sister has a family nutty enough to send the Biggest Baddest Wolf running for the hills—and a freaky little curse of her own...

This book is the adventurous and RJ's life is even threatened.  There are some funny references but more vulgar reference than funny in my opinion.  I did enjoy the weird romance between RJ and Asia.  I do not want to give too much away just in case you want to read it.  The title is very appropriate for this book.  I do not want to say I hated this book, it was okay, but I was disappointed by how much vulgar there was in the book. I think if there were less than I would have liked it a lot more.

He Loves Me
