I am participating with Ricki Jill's from Art @ Home , weekly party  Literary Friday. You should go over to her blog and check out all of the other book reviews.

This is another sweet little romance book by Samantha Jillian Bayarr.  This one deals with magical spell put on one family which has changed lives of three prior generations of women in Amy's life; her mother, grandmother, and great grandmother.

In the beginning of the book you will find Amy just getting organized with a book store she inherited from her Grandmother who retired. An elderly man, Henry arrives one day mistaking her for someone in his past, his love lost Annabelle.  He shares his story with her and the two instantly become friends, he invites Amy to his house for brunch after he grandson picks him up.  Amy ends up going and meeting this wonderful family, who takes her in as one of them.  She also meet Jake and her entire world begins to change.  The two fall head over heals for one another, only problem is Amy is engaged to one of her best friends/childhood sweetheart, Jonathan. Amy is torn about her feelings between the two men.  Jonathan is security for her but she feels passion for Jake.

Amy gets invited to Jake's family Halloween Party, however it is supposed to be the same weekend her best friend Emma and Jonathan are to visit.  Due to Jonathan has been backing out of his visits Amy was not sure if they would actually come so he replied yes to the invite.  She found a vintage wedding gown in the attic of the bookstore and thought this would be a great costume for the party. Emma and Jonathan did make it that weekend and also went to the party. Jonathan could see the change in Amy and the two fought.  While Amy was trying to sort her feelings, she found an old steamer trunk in the attic.  Inside this trunk was an old book which contained a gypsy curse which was placed on her great grandmother. The curse was to be passed down to all her female decedents, The Curse of the Widowed Bride. If she is to marry her true love, her husband will die.  Amy also discovered her grandmother is Henry's long lost love Annabelle.

Will Amy find away to break the curse to marry her true love Jake? Or will she side with security and marry Jonathan?  The answers are all inside this little book.  The book is a quick read and I did enjoy it.

  1. At first the storyline sounded familiar, similar to both a book I recently read and a movie I know I've seen but can not name. Then the plot made a twist. Now I am adding this to my TBR pile. I think I will enjoy it.

  2. Oooo this looks good, in spite of a horrific gypsy curse! Nice touch with the video.
This one sounds fun….I love books with love triangles…does that make me a bad person? :/

Thanks for linking-up to Literary Friday!

  3. Ah, sounds dramatic! I love a good love story, when neither potential love interest is villified for the sake of giving the audience (and protagonist) the "right" choice. Sounds fun!

Thank you for stopping by and showing the love. I will reply back by email unless you have a no-reply email address set up and then I will reply within the comments.
