Vacation 2017 Day One ~Memphis, Tennessee

Yes, I am finally getting around to finish posting about my vacation two Summers ago.

Day two of our vacation was actually the first day we drove.  We originally had planned on leaving about Midnight but returning so late from Paul McCartney's concert click here and me having to finish work for the month and on top of it all our toilet broke in the middle of the night around 2:00 AM.  God was looking out for us because I do not think the boys would have noticed the water running and the toilet probably would have been in our garage by the time we came back from vacation.  Any who we ended up leaving around 3:00 AM and drove directly to Memphis, Tennessee.

First stop... Graceland, Elvis Presley's Mansion. Todd had gone several years back with his girls and ex-wife.  It was my first time.  What a beautiful home.  We were able to see the first floor, Lisa and her family live on the second floor which has never been open to visitors even when Elvis was living there.  We also was able to see his grounds.  We chose not to see his airplanes but did visit the area where all of his vehicles are kept.

After Graceland we checked into the hotel.  Todd made reservations with the Graceland Inn.  This inn is absolutely beautiful as well.  We had planned after dinner to go see the Lorraine Motel which is now a museum but a horrible thunderstorm rolled in and we ended up retiring to our rooms for the evening.
The lobby, it was absolutely beautiful!

    1. It is absolutely beautiful. Kind of expensive tour but I felt it was worth it because of the music history/legend. It was very informative tour.

  3. Thank you so much for this first hand account of visiting Graceland - lovely pictures. I really hope to get there one day from the UK - the older I get, the more I appreciate Elvis and I love watching him on YouTube - it's my guilty secret!😍 Have a great weekend!

    1. He has always been a favorite in my house while growing up. My Dad was a huge fan and the first time I ever saw him cry was the day Elvis died. I hope you have a great weekend as well!
